I have an '03 MP5 with the manumatic transmission. Occasionally, I look at the indicator on the dash (only available in manual mode), and wonder if there's a non-invasive way to make that display show the current gear in automatic mode as well? When I say 'non-invasive', I mean right up to the point of soldering a jumper to an existing circuitboard. I'd like to avoid that if at all possible.
I'm thinking that there's a signal sent to the display when the shifter is pushed over into manual mode, and maybe I can split that signal or make it present full-time. I admit I haven't done a lot of research on the matter, and am hoping someone on here has.
Thanks in advance for anything you guys can give me. Not a high priority - just think it'd be a cool thing to have.
