TCU deactivation

Hello,

i called 800 to deactivate tcu but was the unit deactivated to not to run at all like kill LTE modem signal, or it was just disconnected to send signal to mazda but the car can still reach out to the cell tower? sorry not tech geek. don't know how it exactly works but he goal is to completely turning off the location tracking and all data collections. Thank you.
