TCS light on :(

Ok so my issue is that the TCS stays on after starting the engine, this the 1st light I've ever had stay on that isn't supposed to lol, its the car with skid marks light, I read the manual and it said this was the traction control, so I'm wondering how bad this issue is as I'm doing a good 3 hour drive tomorrow, not able to get it to my local garage until wednesday, I also noticed I'm now not able to turn the dsc off with the button located next to the steering wheel (RHD UK sport) I'm hopeing its just a dirty or dogey sensor, but could it be even worse, just like to prepared for the worst haha. Any help is appreciated

Mine comes on after I go off road (gravel driveways, mud, ect.) and it usually takes 3 or 4 miles to go off. If it stays on than more than a couple miles it might be a sensor or something.

hmm i drive with mine off almost 24/7.

but i corner alot. if youre a good driver then you should be ok.

Well strangely enough i can turn the DSC off when the engine is off and when i start the engine it stays off, but while the engine is on i can't turn it off lol, anyway been and got the ecu plugged in today, its saying brake pressure sensor fault, garage said its most likely in the ABS unit located at the back of the engine, 700 for a new unit and then it has to be sent to mazda to be configured so looks like im going to be trading this heap of s*** in for a leon Cupra R lol

so your traction control is messed up cuz of brakes? make sense. sense the brakes play a role in TCS thats why i drive with it off.

also as a fellow mazda2 owner id like to know why you think its a heap of s***.

im not happy at the fact im looking at about 1000 to fix this issue, one sensor fails and the whole unit has to be replaced, really bad design in my opinion, as my worry is what if the unit goes completely and then ill have no abs, no dsc no nothing, its a headache i dont like having, id rather get a new car than mess about with this, i read up about the units and it appears they are flawed in design, no ventilation and with all the electronics in there they over pressurise and break, so if i did replace it, id be looking at another replacement in a few years

wouldnt it be cheaper to pay the 1000 than buy a whole new car? i didnt realize abs was connected to tcs but it makes sense since abs controls traction under braking.but im no mechanic/engineer/smartperson

i dont need to pay the 1000, this company i linked do the unit for 225 and then about 60 for my garage to fit it, its plug and play just need to bleed the brakes do some harsh braking and the unit recalibrates itself but no my worry was what if the rest go and something bad happens, i dont want to be paying huge amounts of money to repair the damn thing, would rather get a more reliable car but hey its sorted now, just have to get some money together to fit this unit

nooo, the warranty here in the uk isi usually 3 years or 30, 000 miles whichever comes 1st, my car is now 5 yr old, so mods and stuff are fine lol, apparently this issue is common on the 3's and 5's but has be known on the 2's, i dont know if the newer facelift model had this issue sorted but just keep an eye out for it

Here in Quebec I have a 6years 120k km warranty ...

Mitsubuishi (spelling?) I think once offered a 12 years warranty, crazy sh*t
