Talking About The Speed At NLOC...

Awesome. I was driving to work like I usually do, and a buddy behind me says I was surprising the hell out of all the big block truck drivers here in Louisiana since I can cut, weave, and on WOT absolutely p u s h and p u l l. He was just laying back and watching, laughing his head off when he passed the mystified Hemi boys...

lol. That's funny. The guy that posted the video is on my local forum, and the guy with the MS3 kept getting KR and sold it.

Most people here in vegas are closed minded about their trucks being the poop. Havn't found one that can roll away from me. The dodge hemi guys are fun to pick on. They got their super cool rumble-bee packages...lol. Not many lightnings out here.

Pretty much no one around my area knows what the hell a MS3 is either. I have only had one person ask me if it was a speed3 ( I am debaged btw). And I always get the WTF look when they hear the turbo spool and my forge BPV make it sound like ninjas are under my hood.

Ninjas FTW!

I have both -- a Speed and a Ram. Have to say, add over a ton to the Mazda an' match 'em up again. My Ram will do 0-60 in the mid-sevens. I suspect the Mazda won't quite manage that. With a RSB the ol' truck does pretty well in the twisties, too.

errr... but its a truck. Not purpose built for that type of driving. Trucks are for hauling, farm work, and off roading.

well you could argue give the mazda the same power in torque if your gonna give it the same weight, depends on the series of the truck also.

Actually, the real power/torque isn't that different. The Hemi has 345 hp at the crank, but only 'bout 275 or so get to the wheels. 390 torque and I have no idea what's at the wheels. The 545RFE tranny has a bunch of parasitic loss. The Ram weighs about 5,300#, the Speed is around 3,200# or so.

You're correct, Mr. Mazda... trucks is fer haulin' an' towin', but mine shore is fun to drive. It's surprised a few Titans, Tundras and the like. What's really fun is when someone tries the 300C. Now that's fun!

LoL...300C are for ballers. I see a lot of them done up with lots of chrome and grills. Is it stock?

Pretty much. Bentley grill, but that's all. Nearly all the ones you see with chrome and trash aren't "C"s, they're Tourings or Limiteds or Base. If it doesn't rumble, it's a six.

Oh..ok. Yea..most of them are Six's then. When I do see then, it always seems to be at night on the interstate and they are always flying between 85-95MPH.

For the Hemi, that's loafin' ;) Since most of those characters don't do much to the motor, a tell-tale sign is the tailpipes: one: it's the base 2.7L. Two, but no rumble, it's the 3.5L six. I considered that one, but it complained about being pushed, where the Hemi just wants more.

I call BS on the guy that claimed he had the MS3 beat until he let off at 130. He had a super duty with a tune or something - not going to cut it at all!

If it was a Gale Banks Six-Gun, it's possible. Those things are awesome. Enough torque to light up both back tires for 60 feet or so.

guys around here can really tune the diesels, but they start to get winded around the century mark... usually... some of the kids can smoke a set of 44 inch tires like it's nothing...

but that guy is just talking out of his ass...
