I thought the same exact thing... No way, not even a banks (tuner only) would have done that.. I have a couple of buddy's with diesels (6.0powerstroke, 7.3powerstroke, 5.9cummins) all that have TB exhaust and tuners and they wouldn't touch me.

I'm gonna be the one who says it since I'm betting nobody else will...I would rather have a Gen II Lightning over an MS3. I'm about to get flamed over this but I love Lightnings and have forever. I was literally crushed when Ford stopped making them and never came out with a replacement.
IMO: Lightning > Mazadspeed3 and I would take a 2004 Lightning over an MS3 anyday.
I find it funny how they just realize after its been out for 3 years that it actually exists. I guess that's what we get for driving things with 2 4 bangers under the hood.

I like the speed as a practical car anyway. I guess one day I'd like to have a miata as a project cat

i agree man the speed is def a practical car, still the best bang for the buck. screw the cobalt SS guys, who think because they have a .2 faster 1/4 there car is better. they have no back seat and a 4x2 trunk, whats the fun in that? i need some room, and you arn't gonna get that in a coupe like you are in a hatch or wagon.
You can't mingle in a cobalt. You can do it in the backseat of a speed3. Roll both seats all the way up and u'll be surprised how roomy it can be back there.

I'm not too concerned about number comparisons. It's hard for me to care so much about speed when I realize the fastest thing I will ever drive was the gsxr600 I got rid of to help buy the ms3
I was considering several other cars when I was looking at the ms3. Cobalt, used mini cooperS, srt calibur. But at the time the cobalt only had 2 doors as did the mini, and the calibur didn't have xenon option. I do like those srt wheels though

As Much as i'd love to have a hooked up truck (Like an old Chevy cylone... 4.3L v6 w/ turbo... YUM) I'd much rather have a fast car. Less chance of rolling over and more fun when u go someone besides straight ahead.
