Taking an Audio Lesson

:
Mazda CX 5 Touring
I haven't had my CX 5 long. I traded a Honda Accord Coupe for it. I recently had the blue tooth module replaced to improve the infotainment system. It did to a degree, however Mazda could take a lesson from Honda for their audio system. I really liked the Honda system. It made sense in it's organization, Mazda's doesn't. I doubt that Honda makes their own system but I could be wrong. If Honda outsources their system maybe Mazda could use whoever Honda uses or if Mazda already outsources their system maybe they should use someone else. Does Mazda monitor these forums?

Can you elaborate a bit on the details of the differences between the two and where you prefer one over the other? I have set up/connect both iPhone and Android for her 2014 Accord Sport and my 2016 CX-5, and I found the Mazda system is more intuitive. But, I'm a web developer/designer by trade, so my background might bias the experience/preference.

Just to be on the safe side, check and make sure you have the latest firmware for the Infotainment, I think Mazda's been addressing several problems related to Bluetooth, too. Mine is v55.00.753A (Settings > System Settings > About > Version information)

EDIT: Sorry I saw your join date of Feb 2016 and wrongly assumed that you have a 2016 model with the MazdaConnect Infotainment, but your other posts indicated 2015, which might explain why you are having problem. I guess Mazda did learn a lesson and put in a much better system for the 2016 model.

The main thing I find different is how it reads the usb. I had a thumbdrive with my music arranged in folders I named myself like country, pop, bluegrass, smooth jazz etc. The Honda read the drive and kept things in the folders I made up. The Mazda seems to put the music into genres it decides on instead of the way I want it.

Yeah, sorry I don't know much about 2015 system. In 2016 system, I have a bunch of options to display the songs: playlist, artist, album, song, genre, audiobook, podcast, folder. Just like you, I organize songs into folders and thus I mostly use "folder" mode, and occasionally "song" mode to find a particular song (all songs listed and sorted by name).

You can look at how the Mazda Connect system works here (maybe yours work similarly):

I haven't been in a Honda in years, except for some test drives around the dealership, and didn't' spend much time with the audio.
But I do listen to a lot of auto podcasts on my commute, like autoblog, and I have always heard that the Honda system was a pain to use. The one in the brand new Civic was supposed to be a bit better.
But hey, at least we don't have the Ford or Cadillac systems. There is much hate for both of those.
