Tail light compatibility

Hi guys, I'm new here and own a 2012 Mazda 2. The problem is that a week ago I was involved in a minor bumper crash and one of my rear tail lights is shot and the rear bumper has some scratches (whistle) ...I want to know if the tail lights of the 2011 Mazda 2 are the same as the ones in the 2012 model. Can't seem to find information regarding this. A friend of mine has a set of tail lights that came off of a 2011 model but he is like 4 hours away and dont want to buy them until I'm sure they fit.

Having seen them side by side at the dealer, I can't say I see any difference. I'd wager they're 99% the same.

I would say they are 100% the same. I'm pretty positive about it. But like always check for yourself. Give your local Mazda parts shop a call and ask.
