Tachometer

Anyone know what's needed to hook up a tachometer on my 00' DX 1.6L DOHC.

I know on older cars you could just hook up two wires two the postive and negative of a coil and run it to the tachometer and it'd work great?

Kinda sucks not being able to watch my RPM's(eekdance)

Have you looked in junkyards for a cluster with a tach? That'd probably be the easiest and best-looking route to go.

I did the same thing with my 2000 DX. I got a cluster with a tach for my car off of ebay and did the switch. It worked perfet, except the mileage is now wrong.

Man I had the same problem but I got the 5" indiglo tach from Autozone and mounted it on the dash. I this is what it looks like.

so you are just trying to find the wire you tap inot to actually see the rpms, right? or a power source?

DX's do not have tachs, even if they are standard.

Hahaha.....that was awesome!

Just swap a cluster w/ tach into your car......looks 10 times better. This has been discussed lots before.

Not sure if the same stands for 99-00 models but I have an 03 dx and swapped the cluster with an 01 lx cluster. Everything works fine except the mileage is slightly off.
