Switching from AP to STANDBACK2

Ok i have a fully bolted on ms3 with stock turbo and soon to be big turbo. I havent had much support with the AP and since i live close to CP-e and pretty much have all cp-e parts (call me a fanboy : ) i decided to switch... i know there very different but i found a shop around me that will tune standback also so its win win...

has anyone switched...any pros cons? I really hope im making the right decision but it seems as if cp-e has been moving forward with their tunning and cobb has been moving backwards haha.. any feedback??

no feedback, but questions...

did you have a custom AP tune or were you using one of the OTS maps? Did you ever dyno with your AP; would be interesting to see what difference you will have between the AP and standback.

Interested in your end result; good luck.

no just an ots map..i was happy with it...i just feel standback can give me more options and since there located closely...

I took a ride in a local MS3 that recently went to a SB. It is fully bolted and was not running an AP before the SB, but the car ran great. Very smooth power delivery. On the other hand I took a ride in another MS3 right after a few hours of pro-tuning and it to ran much smoother than any untuned MS3 I have been in. I think at the end of the day getting a good tune is critical. It seems like the one mod that pushes folks from the AP to a SB is when they go big turbo. Once you take that step the SB just makes sense and in the OP's case location is ideal for the switch. Good luck, i'm sure you will love it. Keep us all updated with the progress.

def...im in the saving up stage...i will be selling my ap soon...the standback seems a little complicated but when it comes to bringing ur car to a tunning shop they all seem to like stand back better because of all the options ( even tho cobb has many more options available now) i just rather my custom tune be on a stand back because of the support. i have like app cpe parts anyway haha

definitely interested in seeing how you like the switch. i've been looking into tuning options and so far the AP or SB are the ones most talked about. are there any other options or are those two the only ones worth looking at?

AP is an amazing unit..especially for beginners..you plug it in and there you go...you have a tune...but when you start getting deeper and deeper into fuel cuts and fmic and running vta and going big turbo...your gonna want standback...even tho an AP technically can still do the job...its really what you prefer....i went with AP right away...i wrote this thread to get some insight if i really wanna switch...i would never trust any other tunning solution..and with the decisions that cobb has been making...cp-e seems to be the only trusted company out there. they make really great slightly over priced products tho...i never herd anything bad about any of there products.
