switch from speed3 to ms6?

hey guys, i currently own a 07 speed3 with cobb sri hpt turbo inlet forge bpv trz rear mm and thats all i think... anyways i saw a speed6 on the way home last night and i just have to say there so sexy... and awd would be so nice for winter. and to launch lol.. gotta love wheel hop. anways do you think the speed6 has more potential to achieve faster quarter mile times with equal mods to the ms3? my payments would go down quite a bit if i sold the speed3 and put my equity towards the speed6... what do you all think should i do it or not? the hatch look is kinda getting old.

i had a ms3 then bought a ms6 and like it a lot more. it feels more grown up and i like the looks more. off the line the 6 is faster, but from a roll the 3 feels faster. it comes down to what you would rather be driving around in.

if u want a fast 1/4 mile car get a subi or an evo

I drove both new before I bought the MS6. A few of the local guys have MS3s, and they are nice, but I still prefer the refined subtle look of the MS6. You're not going to blow any Evos or STIs away, but it will be a quick car.

Oh, and the Cobb AP works extremely well with the MS6. You'd be able to use some of your mods right away too.

i agree with Steve and ms3action cuz u gotta look at certain things of the car. Its true that the car feels like its more grown up and s*** plus not a lot of ppl think or know anything bout the speed is but once you pull up and take off then its all fun and games. I love my speed6 and no offense to the speed 3 guys but i would never trade in my car for it. Even though the speed 3 is faster from a roll cuz it ways less but gotta love the AWD =)

Let us not forget ...Speed6 insurance is cheaper than Speed3 insurance. Since I live in wonderful NJ, that was a deciding factor to me.

Speed 3 CAN be faster in the 1/4 mile but it takes a masterful launch and great tires. Like a 350z a really solid speed 3 time is hard to come by.

The speed 6 is a bit easier to get good times. With decent driving you can make it a 12 second car on the stock turbo. With moderate bolt ons you can hang with / take lightly modded or stock evo's.

i love my speed 6 very much. every time i get out of my car i look back at it 3 or 4 times because its such a beautiful piece of machinery. since my wife and i car pool we take her car into the near city we live near. so every time we pull into our place i get this big smile like i am a kid receiving his first video game console when i see my car and my wife just laughs.

i test drove the speed 3 before i got the speed 6 and they're a great car but i am just not into the whole hatch idea. a friend of mine has the orangeish red speed 3 and its a sick car but just not for me. besides the awd was a major necessity for me for the winter months. also drifting in the snow is a lot of fun also lol

+1 every time i walk inside my house, as im putting in the key to unlock the door, i just turn my head and look at my baby. My friend and i car pull sometimes to work too and every time i come home i smile lol (2thumbs)

why what happened? everything seemed to be going well after the dyno? too hot for the turbo down in sunny florida? lol

Na my moms car is leased for another 3 months and my parents have an extra car sitting in their garage. Her leased lexus has like 10K miles left on it so im resting mine and putting the miles on hers. When I get a break im going to do some serious work on my car. New guage mounts, springs, turbo inlet, cobb AP, spark plugs, and perhaps a fuel pump if necessary. Can't wait :).

while i cannot vouche for anyone else on this, my "johnson" has grown a good foot in length and i've noticed a considerable gain in gerth since driving the speed 6. that alone should be enough reason to switch.

well, that and what everyone else is putting forth. if you can afford it and you truly want the car, then go find one and enjoy it. i can attest to the fact not as many people seem to know what the speed 6 is and it's for that reason i get hardly any attention from police and ricers. the girls can't stay off my jock though due to the gain in manhood.(boom07)

A forum member you might want to look up and play 50 questions about the ms6 would be 2NR...not sure if he is a member here to but he is on SU. He ended up trading the ms6 and geting a evo x later on.

Edit:His MS6 ircc was into the 12 sec 1/4 mile. He also broke several axels reaching that goal

Like everyone else said, it depends what you want. I'm 43 years old, and while I love the MS3 and it's faster from a roll, I just can't see myself in it. The MS6 is refined, avoids the boy-racer look, and has enough pickup to be fun. Would I take on an Evo or an STi? No. But at this altitude, I keep up with Mustang GTs and G8 GTs, and leave 350Zs watching my taillights (stock against stock, of course).

However -- there are days I wish I had the convenience of a hatchback. LIke when I want to take my dog with me somewhere, or have to get something big. Then I remember the CX-9 in my garage and the Grand Cherokee in our driveway and I'm over it. :)

The MS6 is hella good in the snow. I drove all last winter on summer tires and did just fine. I can't WAIT to try it out this winter with Eagle GTs on it.

However, the MS6 is quirky and has some weakpoints that can cost some $$. The smoking turbo problem is convenience only, but the weak rear diff mount and glass-like rear axle (ok...overstated...) can cost you some serious bank if you're modding and break them.

You know what I like MOST about my MS6, though (besides being sexy as hell)? It's truly a limited edition car. Not made any more. ANd I believe something like 7500 - 9000 made it to the US, with 15K made worldwide. So it is kind of a collector's car. While the MS3 imported only 15K to the use in 2007 and 2008, it looks like it will continued to be produced (that hood-scoop model looks HOT), and it has definitely sold better than the MS6, thanks to being well-priced in a crappy economy.

Anyway...that's my 2-cents-worth.
