Sweet Deal on a Spoiler

How hard is the installation on these things? Do I have to pop off anything or does this just go on top of the non-spoiler thing on the sport?

im not 100% sure, but i think the NON Spoiler piece thats on the back of the hatch comes OFF... and this replaces it... but you'd have to ask one of the more knowledgeable guys on the forums... are they all painted blue like the pic, or can i get one painted to match my car?

The product details specifically show true red and brilliant black, but it goes on to say that you can specify your color in a PM to the seller or on PayPal. I'm pretty sure they do all colors.. it would be pretty stupid to limit the color variety.

Yeah I'm hoping someone will post with some advice, I don't want to buy it if it's going to be a super big hassle.

this is tempting.

the "lump" on the top of the sport hatches is part or the sheet metal. i imagine any spoiler would just bolt on to that space

That is awesome.
I'm buying it no matter what. It's only 110, even if it sucks I won't feel too bad. THANKS Josh!

I would bet that you just need to pop off the plastic trim panel on the interior of the hatch, and you could bolt it down that way. Be careful with the plastic clips that hold the trim in place - they're a bear to get if lose them inside the hatch....

With all the money saved, you can buy the Mazda Workshop Manual.

Hehe!

Post Pics.

Yeah. They are for 2011 M2 usa.

I purchased a spoiler off ebay, http://www.ebay.ca/itm/PAINTED-New-...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4aa84b2104 and for the money I paid for it its pretty decent. The paint quality on visible areas is good, matches the paint perfectly, shipping was really fast, but there were very fine almost unseeable scratches on the clearcoat. It comes with 3M tape, and bolts needed to install.

I went to Mazda to install it, they complained about it being harder to install as it comes with no template. They had to drill through 2 layers of the Hatch in order to bolt it on. Cost me $110 for installation.Spoilers at the dealership cost around $360 not including installation, the cost of installation and the Ebay spoiler was $230.

I would recommend it if you are willing to not have a flawless finish on the spoiler and save at least $150. Ill see if i can post pics later.

Yeah id say so. They were pretty light, not through to primer or anything. If I wasn't searching for flaws I probably wouldn't have noticed them. They were only on one smaller section as well.

Do yourselves a favor....just use the 3M tape. It will hold just fine. No need to pay someone to drill holes.
