Suzuki Swift coming to the U.S. in 2010

if it is anything like the last generation swift that came over here, the only thing swift about it was how quickly it fell apart.

yeah thankfully it isn't. Was that one even made by Suzuki, wasn't it just a geo metro?

pwuahahahaha!!!

On a side now, how can they make such nice looking bikes, but fail so miserably at carZ?

You've got that a bit backwards. All the Geos were made by someone other than GM. The Metro was a Suzuki, made by Suzuki. The Prism was a Toyota Corolla, made by Toyota, the storm was an Isuzu, the Tracker was a Suzuki sidekick, etc.

The current 1.6L engine (which looks like it's the only engine coming here) found in the Swift Sport makes 123 hp and 109 lb-ft. Should be pretty comparable to a Fit in power:weight.

thats hysterical!! the manual eats the automatic for lunch in mileage :P then again, it's a 20 year old 4speed autotragic in that thing...wouldnt it be more cost effective to use a more mainstream bulk built tranny like the GM 5 speed to increase fueliness?

that being said, if they make a sport model with like 175hp in something that light, i'd be all over that in a heartbeat, i actually like it :)

btw, who's motor is powering it?

oh 2 more things...

why does a 1.6L need faux dual exhaust

can i have the one in yellow plz?

Well if they are anything like the first generation...It will be a great little car. I had two of the 1989 Swift GTi's. No trouble or problems, great gas mileage and very quick. I kept both of them past 70,000 miles then traded in one for a MX-3 and the other for something bigger.

If this actaully happens I would get one in a heart beat as long as there is a GTi option. I'm running a Swift GT motor in my suzuki samurai. Suzuki FTMFW!!!
Now if they toss on the Sx4 AWD all the better!!! The original Gti's/Cultus came AWD overseas
