Suspension problem

03 Panda MP5
Just got back from doing an oil change and rotating the tires on my 03 MP this morning when I noticed something funny. Not ha ha funny, but strange funny. I grabbed my rear spring and it moved! Not just a little, but I was able to twist it about half way around. I talked to the guy at the auto craft shop and he told me that my springs were still good, but it was my struts that are shot. My ride is lowered, but it was the previous owner that did it. Now I'm not sure if they meant to do it or it just happened. Doe anyone have any input on this? And what should I get? New struts? New coilovers? And what exactly?

+1

Sounds strange to me. Was the car jacked up? When I lift my car I can spin my springs cuz I'm not using the top spring hat. But if your car was on the ground and u can spin the spring something is definently wrong.

It had to be in the air....The spring is shorter due to the drop....and the strut was locked out in the fully extended position...it does not suprise me you can turn it.

Yes car was in air. From what I've seen from people that are parting out their P5's, they look stock. Strut was fully extended. How do I be sure that my struts are not, in fact, bad??

if it was in the air then yeah, you can probably move a shorter aftermarket spring easily. I didn't need spring compressors to reassemble my eibach spring/struts because the spring is shorter.

If you have oil leakage from the strut and a crappy ride then yeah, the stockers in the front are probably done.
