Surging issues

right before but who knows now illl have to check!

Honestly there shouldn't be any oil in the throttle body or the charge pipe........ at least in my experience.......

and I recall someone on another mazda forum saying they had a tech that they know very well (friends) check their car, and found oil in the charge side and TB, and the tech was like "i think i found your problem"

but the guy said when his friend (tech) called mazda they told him it was normal......... doesn't seem normal to me, but I think mazda is just saying that to cover their asses on some losses. (boom07)

I may have something. I just got back from the shop having the same surging issues as everyone else. Of course the tech supposedly couldn't recreate the problem. Anyway, he ran a check for any new pcm updates and found one. On the report it says PP120XRX QCCP 60404001-06 PCM REFLASH - EVAP. I had my car reflashed months ago, so this one must be somewhat new (maybe not, I've been out of the loop for a while). Anyway I flogged on the car for about 40 miles and my surging issues have pretty much gone away. i used to be able to recreate the problem consistantly and now the car is running very smooth. I still think I notice a small bump here and there, but I may be imagining it. Either way, it is much better than it was.

I had the service done at Crippen Mazda in Lansing MI if that helps anyone.

Well since Mazda is probably not going to do anything about the oil in the charge cooler pipe for everyone that has had it so far.. I have not taken mine off but I am experiencing some surging bone stock 06 here with a drop in K & N. If I get around to looking in my charge pipe I will probably just add a catch can. Seems to work on the other two turbo cars in the driveway. Usually a sign of the PCV system not doing a good job in the older cars. Even naturally aspirated cars have some oil come into the TB area but it is usually minor... very minor.. Steeda sells a setup for about 80 bucks for NA cars. For the FI crowd a catch can will probably be the resulting purchase.

Well mike, when I took my CAI off the car it stopped for a while... I took it off then drove it a couple miles and brought it back to the shop and installed my test pipe and motor mount because I thought the car was fixed.. Thinking it was the CAI that caused the problem. Even after the test pipe and mount it drove amazing for a few weeks. Then it started doing it on rare occasions and now it is so bad that I wanna drive it straight into the lobby of mazda and walk out!!! So for the people who are talking about this oil, where can I find that? I am not sure where to even start looking... I wish I could drive someone elses car or have them drive mine just to see if its all the same problem!
