Superprotege still racing awaiting the completion of his big brother, supermazda3

I'm sure Juan was testing the limits of the engine and has full intentions of building the motor as soon as it blows.

I know he may have had people waiting for parts for over six months and was hard as hell to get ahold of sometimes but I definately don't think he would lie about the numbers... since now knowing that was him that posted the dynos!

Software Answer

The software is Cobb Accessport from Cobb Tuning. You can see it in the 465 whp video showing the psi.

Yes the car is running on stock internals. This is a customer's car so there is no plans of testing it till it blows.

These numbers make me feel like buying a speed3.

Not ALL cars in Columbia are diesel and didn't you respond to my previous post? How is it you are lost now? The car is IN Columbia which is why I said go fly yourself there. Juans tuned and prepped this car in house at HiBoost in Columbia.

Clarification

Supermazda3 is not the car that is making 477 whp, it is a customer's speed3 in cloumbia. I posted the vidoes to the wrong thread. I should have posted the dyno info to the other thread I created http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123717772.

Supermazda3 is being prepped now to appear at HIN in 12/08, to dyno test and track run once Moroso open back up. I am sorry for the confusion. Please stay tuned.

The quest for big power is on

The project has been delayed by the current economic situation and the closing of Moroso for renovation. We have kicked the project back into high gear trying to get ready for Hot Import Nights (HIN) on 12/20/08. We are hoping to have dyno and track numbers before the show.

Please see pics of the individual throttle bodies and intake manifold. We also have a built head on the way with bigger valves, stiffer springs and ported & polish.

Please keep us in your prayers that we finish in time

wow that piece looks like if it were a stock part. I wonder how many peopole would buy these if they were sold in mass quantities. Any idea on price for those?

Response

Good stuff Alfredo, I am going to check with Manuel on the price.

I know the intake portion came from Cosworth but I am not sure where the individual throttle bodies came.

I am hoping to have pics of the builted head and the regrinded cams once they are completed

Getting ready for HIN 12/20/08

It has been awhile but the quest for big power continues. Please see the pics below of the big engine being put together.

We have ran out of time and willnot be able to go back to the track to test the car before HIN but should have dyno numbers for the big engine by then.

We had a fuel problem which was prevented us from boosting more than 18psi at the Nopi on 4/18 with the GT35R turbo. The fuel problem was solved, the car was retuned for higher boost and we went to the dyno recently.

Unfortunately, it was a dynomite dyno not Dynojet like we are used to. Please see the 494 whp @ 25 psi slip below. We were disappointed and did not even ask for the next run which was 501 whp @ 27 psi. We did the caluclations later and realized that on a dynojet, the 501 would have been about 525 whp

We went to the tracks on 12/5 to blow some stem since we had not been to Moroso since it was close for renovation. We realized in hind site now that we were unprepared.

As you can see in the video the rear was loose (we need to adjust the rear shock + install the bigger rear sway bar) and the runs were made with too much boost between 28-34 psi. The car was spining tires through almost every gear, too much boost.

Once we start testing the big engine, we are going to have to go low boost and slowly raise the psi till the tires start spining. We are going have to go with wider tires also.

We are hoping to have the car ready for HIN, pray for us.

Thank you all for the continue support!

Good post Owen...I still have yet to see you again in such a long time. The only bad thing about the post is that you should've gotten shots of the engine without the head to show the sleeves that would've been better. But good nonetheless....also wanted to add that in those videos the clutch was slipping. You can hear it clear as day in 4th gear on the second video. Even someone says it in Spanish lol. Thanks for the update!

Car sounds amazing, I wish that I could have gone to the track that night to check it out. It definitely needs some wider slicks though. A 525whp car should trap much higher than 118mph, it looks like your were spinning in every gear.

Work in progress

We found the cause of the problem of the car slipping gears, the clutch is burnt.

Hoping to have the car ready for dyno on Thursday but still got a lot of work to go.

Please pray for us.

Old turbo and engine out, big turbo and engine in.

The cars are almost ready for Hot Import Nights 12-20-08

By God's grace and mercy and staying till midnight the entire week, both cars are almost ready for Hot Import Nights (HIN) 12/20/08.

We just need to put the fuse in the sound system for Supermazda3 and install the oil pressure gauge. We need to put seats back in Superprotege along with a thorough cleaning.

We went to the dyno late last night but did not get the numbers we were looking for, the car needs alot more tunning and we ran out of time.
