Super Street Time Attack

Whatttttttt???????????????????????

Don't mean to b****. But how in the Lord's good name did a cobalt (restyled cavalier) outrun a Supra, S2000, RX-7, and a Beemer etc.????? GM must have sponsered this B.S.

and factory teams > tuner shops.

having john heinricy drving doesn't hurt either.
I would whole-heartedly agree if this were some backyard competition, but it wasn't. The level of competiton that Cobalt had was great. Factory backed or not, the same basic parts went into that car as all the others. You can even watch the full buildup of that car on Speed Channel. (isn't this the one they built on that tuner show?) Look at some of the other team names to see the other big money that showed up to this event. There are some extremely fast road-racing EVOs' that have full independant suspension, more HP and AWD that got beat by the Cobalt.

Not only that, but the Cobalt beat them by SECONDS, not tenths.

Yeah, it's the same car that they built on Street Tuner Challenge. Stock supercharger too, hehe. I forget the company name, but the company that built that car, is in the business of converting C5's into road race cars. GM picked a damn good company to build up their Cobalt. I too was very surprised as well that that Cobalt spanked all those top-notch cars. Heck, I could hardly believe it when they beat the Skyline on that show. lol They poured money into that Nissan too. Complete motor rebuild, twin turbo, everything. I think the engine was putting out around 600hp.
