Nice, but don't the installers have to cut through the center roof brace to install the sunroof?

i think they do....

i'm glad i didnt get one.....otherwise i might not be typing this....

looks great, i wish i had one. I would have bought it in a sec if it was a option.

Word. The quality frame saved your life.

Also: If you could get your car running with it still smashed in and drove it, it would be totally awesome.

Dammit I just talked myself outa getting one and putting the money towards performance instead, but now seeing this makes want to get one again. Looks good man.

Dang that is cool that they did that at irvine. I bought mine there and had no idea you could have them do that.

You can do this with any car. I'm pretty sure the dealer sent it out to a specialty shop to get done. When I was looking at WRXs with my dad all the demos car had aftermarket sunroofs installed (and aftermarket leather) as neither were an option on the car (until 2004).

I think sunroofs are cool, but I don't want to sacrifice the structural rigidity (& $1000) to get one. I always drive with my windows down so that I can turn off the AC. One of my friends does the same with his WRX & he showed me what he is doing. Now I think I might do the same:

Install one of these on the roof...

& cover it up with a scoop like this.

Both parts are $109 each & I'm sure I could do the whole thing for less than 1/2 of what the sunroof costs. It's perfect for me: I can drive with windows up, AC off, & still not be baked alive in the car.

I'm sure some of you think it would look totally out of place, but I plan on having a new paint scheme to go with it, so I think it will look great.

damn......sunroof and cruise control are the only things I like better about other cars......

the one thing my MSP is missing. Almost had one put in but didnt wanna risk them ******* up the whole car.

Id like to see how a roof would look if it was the suby kind where it opens on top of the roof of the car.

how much does your financing cost monthly for the sunroof? How long are you going to pay for it?

all that 1 touch s*** is freakin cool, i look like an ass holding the button on mine

$1,000 installed. It added about $3.50 a month to my financing @ 1.9%.

It took 2 days to do it at Irvine Mazda.

bleh, irvine mazda? don't know about you but their service dept is weak.

oh, nice sunroof. ^_^

Looks nice. . .I had one put in my MP3 before I picked it up. I think I paid $900 for it. . .not cheap but I love it.

I figured I might be the only MP3 with one (not like it matters). Maybe I'm at least the only MP3T with one. (laugh)

I have a Webasto unit. Have had zero problems with it, it is awesome. When you open it, a little deflector comes up and there is virtual no wind noise. I've got an forward and backward button like stock, and then two programmable buttons and a close. So, I can program however I want it to open in the two buttons and regardless of where, when I hit the close button it closes. Better yet, the thing closes when the car shuts off. Don't even have to worry about it. Just turn of the car and it closes 5 seconds later. If you want it to stay open just touch any key after you turn the car off.

This is one of the highly recommended mods I've done. . .but it wasn't cheap.
