Suggestions to seal hood scoop

I got one of the SLP fiberglass hoods with the functional scoop in it. The air is channeled back under the hood into a hole right above the airbox. I know I will need to cut a hole in the factory box to get it to work... but I'm looking for suggestions on what to use to seal the hole in the hood into the hole in the airbox. There is a space of I think about a half inch between the top of the airbox and the bottom of the hood so it would need to seal that.

Anyone run into this and what did you do?

i didnt think you needed to cut any holes. i thought it was designed so that all you had to do was remove the factory box extension that routed above the radiator. once you remove that piece, the stock elbow thats left points right at the duct hole in the hood. sealing that connection might help a little bit, but it should be required.

At the risk of sounding stupid I am bumping this up again.

If I take the factory air duct out so there is just the airbox, what do i use to connect the airbox to the hole in the hood? If i don't put anything in there its like a 6-7 inch gap between and I don't think that would do much to channel cold air into the airbox. You'd just end up sucking some hot engine air and maybe a whiff of the cold air every once and awhile.
