Suede Door Panel (56KWarn)

Did you have trouble getting up the glue and such left from the stock fabric?

No, I actually left the glue on the panel because it made it easier to stick the suede on.

And do you plan on doing any other portions of the interior in another fabric or something?

I really want to do the center of the seats, but I don't think that I have the ability to do it, and there is no way that I am paying someone to do that.

Do you think that sued material is thinner or easier to work with than traditional interior leather?

Probablly. The stuff that I used was quite abit thinner than lether. It might be just as easy if you got really good leather.

A question for you (Heathen23). Did you yourself actually do your interior, or did you pay someone to do it?

I might have to take a look at my seats tomorrow.;)

I bought the leather as a kit. So no real cutting was involved (besides cutting your own hands on the unfinished metal in the seats ;) ). The install is very time consuming and takes some patience but it was not installed by a professional it was installed by a fellow forum member and myself.

I think to do your seat centers professional skill would be required to get it done right. You might however be able to find a full interior kit that would match your red door insert theme and then install it yourself.

I'm glad you posted this as it has motivated me to want to get the door panels finsihed when the weather gets better.

did u make the edges look very smooth? just judging by the pic (which could be very misleading) the top left and bottom right of the vinyl do not fit so well

just wondering, to the people who did this mod, how is it holding up now? I got me some fabric, and to save some money by not going to a shop, i might try this on my own, but just wondering how long it usually takes to do all 4 door panels? and if there have been any problems with the material coming up and so forth.

Anyone think this would work well with Tweed? This seems like it could be done by even the...least able of us...:)
