subwooofer for 2002 Protege5 and bluetooth headunit

I see there is a black connector cable in the trunk.
Can I simply buy a sub and install it ?

I am completely clueless and would appreciate help on this.

Also, any replaceable head unit with bluetooth for 2002 P5 ?

I dont know about the cable, that is new to me, but it would be cool if it was the case. As far as head units, what I did for my 2002.5 P5 was research on Crutchfield.com what I needed and then purchased on Amazon. Got a great Bluetooth,Satellite, HD Radio, iPOD ready Headunit (ALPINE) from Amazon for a great price with, and this IMPORTANT, the connector between the head unit and the factory wiring...no cutting required, plug and play...You will also need a headunit surround (aka Trim Panel). Crutchfield.com will walk you through what you need...even tools too! Good Luck!

IIRC, the oem sub was 03.5 item so not all yrs have the wiring in place. Even if it does doubting you could just plug in anything but factory one in. Aftermarket you'd have to do some wiring research to see what if any of the oem sub wiring would be of use.
