SubWooFer setting up help!

Hello everyone, so my friend gave me 2 competition 12" Subwoofers in a ported box, with a 900 watt amp installed on the box. He gave me them when my P5 was in full working order(meaning i could go everywhere)
Now he said i would have to get another battery for them, because it'll kill the alternator with the battery it has. And i would look at spending a few good bucks for things to have another battery in the P5.
Do i really have to get another battery? If so, what is a good battery to use, as should it replace the current one? or be added?
Cause i know a bigger battery isnt gonna fit under that red bar.
And also i have the wires, i just didnt get the ground wire from him. He was gonna install it for me, but i've had them for almost a month just chilling in the back of my car, and cause of that, i've had people trying to steal them.
If i dont require any other batteries, can anyone please provide me out with diagrams and anything to help me hook them up, in case i have everything, then i can just do it all myslf, so im not waiting for installation.

{And if you've seen any of my other posts, reason i didnt sell these, is because im stuck with the option of keeping them, or giving back to the original owner, as i had to confront him before trying to sell them, as i didnt fully pay for them yet. I only put $20 down out of $100. So He gave me the deal as we became friends that day and he felt he could trust me with them, as he was tired of the just sitiing in his house, not being used.} Funny enough thats what they've been doing anyway. Thank you.

Do you have an aftermarket stereo already? You can buy an adapter if you have a stock head unit to convert for rca wires. I dont recommend it though. All it does is takes your bass from your speakers, and sends it to your subs. You just disconnect the speaker wires at your rear 6x9s, those wires plug into the box. Then you run another set of speaker wire from the box to the rear 6x9 speakers, and on the box has an rca input spot, plug that in and run that cord to your amp. It works, just not ideal. Cuts your bass basically in half in my experience. But will do the job until you can afford a good stereo.. Hooking subs up is relatively easy.. the hardest part sometimes is finding a way to get thru your firewall for your power. Everything is pretty basic aslong as you have a half decent understanding of wiring. You can also google for your cars wiring diagram.
As for battery, i run 2 10" in a sealed box with a 1000watt amp without an additional battery. Sometimes when im reeeeaaally thumping my lights will dim but other than that its alright. Hooking up subs is easy, its installing the headunit that can be a real pain in the a$$. Also removing the stock radio out of proteges isnt fun either, atleast it wasnt in my ES.

Yeah theres already an aftermarket head unit. Its a Sony i believe. Not sure if its a cheap one or not, but it has options to control subwoofers on it. And both of the speakers on the back doors don't work at all. So can i just hook them wires up to the subs? And im very new to the whole "using amps" for subs. I never really learned anything about subs except the different channels, and you can blow a fuse or something if improperly installed, and the guy said something about using the subs at low power for like 2 days for it to get warmed up. You know anything about that?

Then youre in good shape. Pop out the head unit, ull see a port for rca cables. Plug in, run that cord back to your trunk to your amp. And also you need to decide how you want to run your subs. I recommend bridged. I find you get more power.. IMHO. To do that, take a speaker wire. Connect the positive from one sub, to the negative of the other*not inside the box, on the outside. Will take pictures for you, i guess im not the best at explaining things but im trying lol*. So at the end of the day once you hook up the subs to the amp, its like your only hooking up one. All youl have left if 1 positive and 1 negative. Some amps will show you where to bridge, some dont. Il take a picture of what mine looks like when i get out of work, itl make more sence with pictures lol. After that its just a matter of hooking up your power cord to the battery, finding a way thru the firewall, and hooking up the ground. Done and done. Can literally have this done in 20minutes.

Woops sorry, i forgot to tell you about the remote wire!!! You need to go on google and look up youre wiring diagram and find yourself a 12v constant to splice into. Splice into it, attach your remote wire, and run that back to your amp. This turns your amp on and off. I wish i could remember what wire i used but i cant remember, its been 3 years since i hooked it up so i cant remember. But you can google that aswell if nobody else chimes in.

As for warming up the subs... to each their own. I gave mine a few break in days, but some will argue that this isnt necessary. Also youre gonna smell something burning. Its just excess glue thats burning off. Youre not melting the sub or anything lol

If you hook the remote to a constant source, the amp will drain your battery from being on all the time. It needs to be hooked to the blue wire with a white stripe on the head unit harness, but will also work on the red wire, which should be switched with the key.

You can only bridge two and four channel amps, and only at a 4 ohm combined load. This will depend on the impedance of each sub and how they're wired. If the amp is monoblock, bridging is not applicable.

900 watts shouldn't be an issue on the stock charging system.

A bigger battery does next to nothing anyway. The alternator is providing power for everything while the car is running.

The hardest part is running the wires to the battery and head unit. Pop off the plastic door sills and run your wires under the carpet.

Ideally, you should run the power wire down the drivers side, and the RCAs down the passenger side to avoid interference, but I've ran them together a few times and not had an issue.

Also.. please make sure that when you are doing any messing around with your subs, that you pull the fuse out!!!! Even when you run the power cord, dont put in that fuse until youre ready to go. And yes, what he said ^^^^ im on the blue wire. Again, not the best when it comes to trying to explain things but sure am trying.

Lol yeah y'all have me confused like crazy. Here, im going to take pics of my subs and the amp, and the wires i have. And tell me what goes where. I will have them posted in about half an hour.

Okay so here is the subwoofers

https://www.dropbox.com/sc/dpm22dzn2cng734/AACuXFlIOWvXTTclUz9Wm0vYa

And here is the amp's ports and such

https://www.dropbox.com/sc/id355ptlqsu7hfo/AABnZAdk2Pz6PZ7ZVjPxGAtEa

And here are the wires

So do i not need a ground wire? And would i just plug the grey wires into the slots on the amp instead of using those white wires on the amp?
Tell me clearly the best way to hook this up, and i will be out here right now pulling out the head unit.

Okay nevermind about the ground wire. I see on the other side of the amp where the power and ground go. But i dont have a ground wire on me.

Thats funny, exact same subs as mine except mine are 10s. I had to leave enough room in the trunk to fit a stroller lol.
And yes, for the rcas match the white to white, blue to red obviously. The other end will plug into the back of the headunit. Pop the hood, look at the firewall. I used a hole right infront of the driver seat pretty much. Grab yourself a flat head screwdriver, and do some wiggling. Attach the end of the power wire that goes to the amp to a bent cooat hanger, or something similar. Itl make it way easier to pull the cord thru the hole, just use some tape or whatever to attach it. The end with the circle is for your battery obviously. But you cant complete the job without the ground wire, so that kinda sucks.

Okay. Great seems simple enough now. Thank you so much, whenever i get a ground wire, i shall finish the job. I didnt hook anything up yet, but if i get the ground wire, where is that ground wire gonna go? Its like, not even near as long as the other wires. Would i just attach it to metal nearby?

Yeah just attach it somewhere in the trunk. Also youre missing the remote wire remember, dont forget to grab one when you go and pick up a ground wire.

Ok. Great, i will be sure to also get a remote wire. If i need anymore help, i will post again. But thanks alot for your help.
