Subwoofer in spare for '02 p5

Thanks for the input...I figured you would have heard one before. It looked interesting on paper...but wanted some real world input.

So...any hints at what you're working on?

I haven't even found time to sleep much in a week or so, thus nothing is being built yet but I hope to have something for myslef by winter and if it comes out well, then have something to offer others by spring.

I am shooting for 2 10" subs on one side, totaly flushed in and witha grill and on the other side an equal cut out amp rack.

yeah
i like the idea of having the subs mounted to the sides flush, the floor subs are nice, but I dont want to raise the floor level, because I imagine that folding down the seats will no longer be flat, plus it looks like you have to be caustious about cargo as to not depress the sub.

I am searching for pics of side mounted subs on p5

Search under fiberglass too. several people made sub side boxes.

I think someone here has one...just saw the pic last week. I'll try to remember where it was....

How biz in Westchester treatin' ya?

whynot replace the speaker with a "sub-woofer" seemes easy to me if its not low enough make it lower the eclosure is designed to hand that power range so go to partsexpress.com out of dayton ohio and look around they have pioneer speaker to fit any application and flange size wattage ect...im in the catalog right now looking for a part # of a few diff ones

If you mean to just swap out the pioneer 5.25" wtih another speaker in that box then don't bother. It won't work or be benificail in any way.

Has anybody found the wiring in their p5's already there? There wasn't any wiring in mine that I could see. I'm just wondering if its bundled up in a side panel or not.

something like this would be cool, although having them more flush in the rear interior panels is more what I want, possibly removing the jack enclosure ...

I'm putting 2 JL 6W0's in the drivers side recess. This will not encroach on any useable trunk space and i'm gonna remove the factory sub and tray-which will give me 2" of trunk depth back. I just need the time to do it.

If the car doesn't have the sub I don't think its prewired for it.

1ST - I remember you saying that before...I wanted to see if these guys found any wiring. I haven;t been able to, but I'm not going to tear apart my car to find non-existant wiring.

If it was a dealer option then I could see the wiring being there, but being a factory option it wouldn't make sense to put the wiring in. Just like the rack is now a factory option, so they don't put the mounts there if you want to buy the rest of the rack.

As always...hail the Master!! (1ST MP3 that is...)

I'll have to take a apart mine a bit to see where they sliced in, then all you'll have to do is go to that position and see if anything is spliced in too.
