I have 2 jl 12" subs (don't know which model) in a sealed enclosure and a rockford 500a2 amp. I had these in my Mazda 3 with bose and they sounded great (yes I used a LOC). Now I put the subs and amp in my speed 6 with bose (no LOC) and with the gain all the way up on the amp and the bass all the way up on the radio I still barely hear it. But I do hear a lot of engine noise coming from them. I ran power and ground wires for the amp and used the harness for the stock sub for remote turn on wire and input signals. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Okay first of all, SET THE GAINS PROPERLY!!!!

The gain knob is not to be used as a volume control. By turning them all the way up like you have, you could be sending a clipped signal to your subs and risk damaging them.

Also, the problem is most likely with the input signal. If you do hear sound coming from your subs, then the amp is most likely working properly. Check your wiring to make sure the subs are still wired to the correct impedence. Also, let me know exactly how you ran your RCA's. That part I am still a little unsure of.

first I know how to set gains. If i turn them down any I can't hear the subs at all. Second as per the sticky on this page

ADDING AN AMPLIFIER TO THE BOSE SYSTEM

As I mentinoed above, the BOSE head unit puts out a 2v pre-out signal. This is ideal for connecting aftermarket amplifiers. You do not need a Line-Out-Converter. Just connect RCA terminals to the outputs of the head unit (or tap into them by the amplifier harness under the seat) and you are ready to go. If you are only powering a subwoofer you can tap into the audio signal at the subwoofer amp. Power and ground should be run separate and remote-turn-on can be found on any of the wiring harnesses.
So I tapped into the signal at the subwoofer amp and ran rcas from that.
