sub box for protege?

ok im wanting a different box.. i was actually wanting to put the subs like where the seats fold down so when u pull the seat down u see the subs just right there.. i will try to find a picture to show u what im talkin about

You should do a stealth box. Look it up. its cool.

Just get some plywood and cut to size, use a router for the subs.

Done.

i just built a lil box, it's 15x12x20 and has just about 2 cubic feet. not bad

I love the way this looks, but Ive heard the sound quality isnt good with open air subs. Im kind of stuck between constructing a box/buying one or going the open air route too. I like all the open space of the trunk and it keeps the added weight of a sub box off the car, but if sound performance is going to be affected and the potential for the woofers to get damaged is there, then is it worth it to go open air?

yea seems like free air would be kinda weird. the truck is deff not as dence as like nice mdf board the subs might have too much excursion and burn faster.
