Sub/Amp Setup

[First Car...P5]

I'm planning on getting a system for my car soon and after wandering around the net for the past couple days, I finally came across a setup which I like. The thing is, this is my first system and I'm not 100% positive as to what I'm doing. So I was looking at 2 Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1D subs with a Hifonics ZX1000 amp. Good? Bad?

I definately like the subs cause they are clearest sounding subs I've ever heard. As far as the amp goes, I've never experienced a Hifonics amp before so I couldn't give you an opinion on it. Btw, u might want to post this in car audio next time.

/shrug I have 2 12" memphis PR-124s sitting here in a box in my room to be installed (pulled them from my totalled accord) along with a 500 watt memphis amp..im thinking about just using 1 12" because with as much open space in the P5 I think 1 12 with the 500 watt amp pushing it should be more than enough bass for me...Just build your audio set-up how you want to be heard I guess, if you just want so much bass that you cant hear music but just pull alot of attention when you drive by..by all means go out and spend the money on it, but if you just want good quality music and not have everyone staring at you..sometimes less is more..

ha somtimes less yea right, im building mine with quality and it will half half the sound but quality will be way better than other crap. most people go by some bad 12's with a bad ass 1000 watt amp hook it up and think that its a bad ass system

but your right people that want to do that i guess go ahead

yeah I understand alot of people like really loud music and thats fine, but alot of the people that cruise around here just think bass is the only thing you need in a vehicle..bass dosent really make the "system" takes alot more than a bass and amp. you know know what im saying? ..imo the only reason someone would need like 4 15s in their vehicle would be if their girlfriend who was riding with them had a clit ring..muaha!

i had one JL 12w3v2 (with only 200 watts going to it) in my p5 and it was enough for me. if i turned it up loud my scalp would vibrate. im in the process of transferring it to my rx-8

awesome subs

I had just one of those subs in my old Camry coupe and it was awesome. It was so loud, yet musical it was amazing. You'll love 'em.
I don't have an opinion on the amp, sorry.

I love infinity subs. I have a single 12 in a sealed box hooked up to an infinity amp, and I love it. It has amazing sound quality without being too overbearing, and has the ability to play the loud, deep bass you find in rap music. I set off my first car alarm today, lol.

You serious??? I was gonna go spend a s*** load of money on Alpine stuff but I can get the Infinity stuff for much cheaper... And by loud, do you mean that it's so loud you won't dare turn it all the way up? Did you ever hear it sound like it reached its limit? (distortion...) One last thing, I'm assuming the amp you're talking about is the 310A or 311A?
