stupid question about wheels

My RX-8 has the 18'' factory wheels. Will the 16'' oem rims from the base rx-8 fit my car? I'm asking because I tried 16'' rims from a 93 rx-7 and the brakes touched the rims.

If your car is a manual, then they will NOT fit. If it is an automatic, then they WILL fit.

The manual transmission cars have larger front brake calipers.
