everyone knows about the rust on the bad ******* hubs of the p5, there was even a TSB about it.

mine were real ****** rusty but i figured it was just cosmetic and didnt worry about it.

anyways, coming home from the movies a few minutes ago, i notice that my steering wheel is shaking like a motherfucker. i slow down and start hearing bumping noises in the front drivers side wheel well. i get out and look and everything seems fine on the car.

i go down the road again, its getting worse. i get out and check the lugs on that wheel and theyre loose. the first thing that went through my mind was that while i was at the movies, someone tried to jack my s***. i retighten them and hope this works.

i get down the road a little more, and the noise starts again. me and my friend get out and i check them, theyre loose again. i retighten them REALLY ****** TIGHT, and a couple of them just keep turning, never really tightening til they stop. i take him home and drive back to my house.

i start hearing the noise again when i get near it, so i pull in, get out, and the lugs are loose again.

the only thing i can think is that all the ******* rust that were on the bolts that the lugs screw onto finally broke a couple of the threads to the point that the lugs wont get quite tight enough.

so, are the bolt's threads just rusted the **** out to the point where the lug wont tighten enough or can anyone think of anyhting else. i dont htink i can drive it to the dealer, they better send me a ****** truck to take it over there.

I hope they warranty it after your new rims.. If not its time from cross drilled rotors...

I am glad this didnt happen on the highway... that would suck...

u should pull tha wheel and inspect...
if you do have to replace the lugz, i suggest anti-sieze compound be applied to the lugs, and the contact between your wheelz and the steel of the rotors. it will keep that white corrosion from forming on the aluminium too..

Stealth it's not your rotors or anything it is how you put on the wheel. If you don't tighten down the lugs the right way you will get that noise. Next time you take your wheels off, when you put them back on be very meticulous about how you tighten the lugs down. I suggest you hand tighten the lugs with the wheel, pushed with the other hand, flush against the rotor. Then once all are tightened down in a star pattern giggle the wheel and hand tighten again. After this I would, using the star pattern again, do 1-2 full turns on each lug then torque them down(if you have one).

This happened to me twice already since I've changed out my suspension so much. This will totally solve your problems.

What Lugnuts are you using?? I seriously doubts its your Hubs causing them to loosen up....

If you are using Kyokugen Lugnuts with your New Wheels.....They are Known to strip out very easily and the Keys are Junk as well.

Check out your Lugs and Studs, See whats going on.....I had a Wheel Fall off on the Highway doing 75mph due to Crappy Lugnuts and Kosei K1s terrible Design......Hate to see someone else go thru that......

I've seen your car, I was wondering WHY you had missing lugs... I don't know what happened but I'm guessing whoever has worked on your wheels/tires had just blasted the s*** out of the lug nuts with an impact wrench... the result is ****** up threads, weakening of the stud, and warped rotors... now you just have to get the s*** replaced and NEVER tighten lug nuts with an impact wrench again

im using GORILLA lugs, i think i know what the problem was, one of the bolts was bent because theyre the "tuner style" nuts and i was using a tool that was bending the bolts as i loosened them up. i bent them back straight and ill see how it goes for acouple days
