Alright, I know I'm going against the grain here, but I don't want to lower my car at all. I simply need two brand new front struts because my front right one is blown out and I am curious what ya'll would suggest. I went to this site, http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/index.cfm?mode=results
and found two brands for sale, the Monroe and the KYB's. I've never heard of KYB, but I understand they do have a good rep. Monroe is a good reputable brand though. I also noticed that the site stresses that the KYB's are not to go on a Mazdaspeed or MP3, isn't my ES 2.0 similar to both of those in basic structure. Please help, I need some advice to get me in the right direction. I'm afriad of buying some of these and then them not fitting.

IIRC KYBs are stock for all proteges except mp3 and msp they have tokico blues.

get the tokico blues. i have them on my MP3 and it handles like a dream. a little on the expensive side though, but they are def worth the money.

i've only heard of monroe on passenger vehicle, kyb's make the agx's which are adjustable (not for our car) but yeah and they come stock on p5 and such like de31 said.
i'll be ordering some blues soon. seems like everyone likes em. a lot stiffer than stock (thumb)

The Monroe and KYB shock offered are (or should be) and exact replacement to what you took off, I know people say there is a difference but I've been in after-market automotive for 10 yrs and sell both brands, and I’ve had both on my protg, there’s no difference. If you're not looking to lower the car or to change the handling Monroe’s are cheaper, and have a Lifetime Warranty on them.
