Struggling idle...

So, Ive searched everywhere on here for idle issues and it sounds like everyone else who has a problem with it is turbo'd and its a MAF for O2 issue...I've got a nearly stock MP3 (injen CAI that's been on for about 4 years). I drove to work today, parked and noticed the idle drop off, not quite stall, and hang out really low, to the point of pseudo-shuttering. Gave it a few revs, was late for work, turned it off.
Later today, same thing almost immediately upon starting (starting up was pretty standard, no real struggle-somewhat eliminates battery probs, right?) went for about a 15 mile ride the first 10 mins or so the idle issue kept up and gradually went away (turning off fogs initially helped-maybe alternator I'm thinking at the time) got home from a total of about 30-40 miles in 2 trips, and it seemed 'ok' but not normal. Acceleration was also kind of off, but hardly noticable beyond a bit sluggish and slow to react and a tad louder than normal (the sound could also be in my head). This car never gets driven hard especially now with snows tires in the past month or so. any ideas? maintenance is always upto date. 60,800 miles.

Hmmm...any thoughts are appreciated - I need to take a big trip Friday that needs this car.

I was due for a random problem, it has been a few months(boom07)

Vac leak. Brake cleen spay on all your vac lines, when then RPMS increase you found it.

Also could be EGR sticking. to check, locate it, press from under and move the diafram (sp) if it starts to die, let it go, if it dies or keeps at a poopy idle, thats your issue.

Thanks for the quickness BIG
I'll give it a shot...
Now, all i need is help with locating the pieces that may need some love...

also check egr and see if your iac motor (idle air control motor)u might wanna take it to the dealer and see they can do something

Also, not sure if this has anything to do with it, but both times at startups after sitting for some time today, my gas pedal was stuck, and needed a good little kick to get 'unstuck' once started. Very random and first times that this has happened to me.
