Stronger tranny?

is the mazda3's auto tranny (the same thats in the 6i) stronger then the P5 and the reg. protege? i know a manual would be able to hold up to more power, but what about the auto in the 3, stronger? weaker? the same? anyone have a clue? any info would be great, coming into some real $$$ from taxes several grand!!!!!!

I would assume it is stronger if it is the 3s with 165hp. Either way if u want to build up an auto go to www.levelten.com They have bulletproof auto trannies.

Hey,

It is the same tranny in the 2.3i Mazda6. They ditched the old P5/Protege' auto transmission for the new model.

yea, and it "is" more strong to handle the higher horsepower and torque.
