Stripped Sway Bar Endlink NUt

Well first off the nut is not made of plastic it is made of brass and how I ended up getting it off was this: After I cut a flat side in the nut with a dremel I used a #5 hex key to keep the bolt from turning and a set of curved jaw vise grips. Then it was just the tedious task of slowy twisting it off. I couldn't find another flanged nut so I had to go with a lock nut that was a M10x 1.25 I used stell grade 8 this time so as to not have problems the next time.

and for all those eager to see what it looks like after the drop here you go. BTW check out the tinted side markers and taillights. Will have more pics of those in another thread. Look for them.

thank you.....

I am planning to install my TEIN SS suspension tomorrow...and this definately will help my install. Anything else I should know about? Great post...perfect example of how usefull this message board is!

when you used the AIR tools....was the stripping due to a mismatched socket? did the socket not sit properly with nut? I too would like to use my air tools.

you got it. The socket just came off of the nut for a second and instead of stopping and doing it correctly and lining things back up I spun the air gun and it stripped it just right so that nothing else would turn it. really sucked but I think it could have been avoided. One hint was what I said above of using a allen wrnch to hold the bolt and then turn the nut with a open end wrench.
