Stock turbo replacement or equivalent

I'm looking for a place to either have the stock turbo rebuilt, buy a newly rebuilt stocker, or an aftermarket turbo that is a direct replacement. Meaning I can reuse the stock manifold and downpipe and plumbing.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've tried talking my brother (the msp owner) into aftermarket manifold and turbo, but he's not into it. Just need a good stock replacement.

thanks

*************.com u can get stocker gt25, or upgrade to the gt28(rs) for around the same price...bolts into stock manifold and s-pipe

99% direct swap, slight modifying needed. Wastegate actuator needs to be modified, and you'll need an intake reducer cuz the GT28RS has a larger intake opening.

No, it's not. There's a how-to on here somewhere.. I don't have time to look for it right now but I'm sure someone can link you to it.

I appreciate the replies. Damn! $700 just for a new center section!? Thats pretty expensive. You can buy a brand new Precision t3/t4 turbo for the same price.

Does anyone make a rebuild kit for the stocker?

The stock msp turbo is a dual ball bearing unit. That is why the CHRA cost so much.

Oh, I see. Does anyone know what www.majesticturbo.com charges for a rebuild? I've found a few posts, that people on here have used them for rebuilds. I'm just waiting on an email back from them.

The Garrett CHRA's have both the compressor and turbine wheels. You just bolt the housings on and put it back in.

Thanks Sam. I'm just doing the research for my lazy brother. In the end, he will make the decision on weather he wants to keep the paid off car and replace the turbo, or buy a new car.
