02.5 Classic Red P5
I was looking at my tires yesterday and noticed that the middle is extreamly worn, while the outside shows virtualy no wear (25k). I know this is normally a sign of over-inflation, but I keep my tires at the reccomended 32 psi (cold)... I was wondering if there may be a problem that needs to be corrected before I put my new Kumho's on, or what? Anyone else have anything similar happen?

Nope, I've got 10,000 miles on mine, the outside is wearing from tire roll over. I also keep the tires at proper inflation. I just drive really hard. I can't wait for these Dunlops to wear out, so I can get the Kuhmo's.

Yeah, I've got the hookup for Kumho's. :D I'm going to see about getting some new ones Tuesday. Can't decide if I'm gonna go with the 205's or not though.

um if u keep them at 32psi when cold, just think what happens in the summer with the pavement being 100F+...

I've always been told the reccomended pressure was when cold. I would think the tire being heated up would be taken into account when the manufacturer makes the reccomendation.

Edit: By cold I mean ambiant temperature. Before driving the car and whatnot. Not actually cold. :D

I stick mine in the freezer. :D But seriously... Could this be a sign of an alignment issue or something? It's on all 4 tires evenly, with the inside and outside showing almost no wear at all.

i ice my tires ;)

:D

I've seen some honduh guys ice the valve cover, never the tires though :D

Anyway KYREDP5, I'd just adjust the tire pressure to get even wear. It's easy enough to do with some chalk and a parking lot/paved driveway.

I like kuhmo's, had them on my now defunct stang. Incredible tires, ecsta 712's 245/45/17. Very impressive in the rain too.

Yeah the 712's are what I might go with. The guy at my dealership has the hookup for Kumho's . He said he could get me the Kumho V700's for $71 a tire. Tirerack's price is $133. I may get those, or I may see how much he can get me the 712's for. :D
