Stock Stereo

I just bought my first new car, a 2003 Black P5 and am very impressed by it. I love this forum already, everybody seems very nice and helpful and I am looking foward to posting and reading posts. Anyway, I'm not to familiar with the stock stereo except I know that mine came with the MCR Subwoofer. Anyway, does the stock head-unit have RCA outputs for the subwooofer, or is it just wired as a regular speaker. This may seem like a dumb question but I know that aftermarket head-units have the RCA outputs for subs. Any insight into this is greatly appreciated. Thanks!:D

I don't have the sub in my car, but I'm sure that the stock stereo doesn't have RCAs out of it. I've pulled my unti a couple times, no RCA out.

NO there are no RCA outputs on the back of our stock headunit.....

and just so you know...there is an entire AUDIO section to the forum where the experts hang out.....

Like ShortyHawaii1 said, the stock deck doesn't have RCA outputs, but if you want to use an amp with your stock deck, visit RadioShack or your local audio store and buy two PAL adapters. These allow you to use the stock speaker wiring as RCA signal providers by splicing into the factory speaker wire.

NOTE: If you have never done this before, ensure you do not have the deck wires connected to the speaker at the same time while the amp wires are connected. Some people think this will give them more power and sometimes burn their electrical system up and damage their audio equipment.
