Stock Stereo & Satellite Radio

I scoured various threads and have yet to find a very definitive answer to my question. I am thinking about adding satellite to my stock system. I've got the standard radio w/6-disc.

What I don't want is a crappy FM modulator as the means of connection. I want to have it direct connected. In some of the other threads it was mentioned that Blitz Safe and SoundGate were working on adapters for the unused port (if you don't have the Tape/MD unit) on the back of the head unit. That thread went on to say that the companies were still working the adapter and sure enough checking their sites revealed nothing was currently available.

Now, my question is, what is the best way to do this? I have seen a couple other threads where someone has put in a satellite radio but it didn't go into great detail. (Heck one even had the antenna where the Navigation would have been)

- - - - - OR - - - - -

Better yet, if anyone knows of a kick @ss installer in the Tampa Bay area I would be more than happy to check them out. (We're not talking Best Try or Circumvented City)

Thanks for the assistance/comments

To keep everything on dash/wheel working... The modulator is really your only option.... unless you want to spend $1000 + and get a custom dash job to fit a deck, and the adapters requirred to get everything else working again. I dont think its even possable to get the new deck wired into the current mazda 3 clock though. So you will have to do without that.

Not looking for custom dash as I am quite happy with the stock system just wanting to know the best way to incorporate the satellite with the stock system. Especially if you would recommend one system over the other. (sirius, etc)

If your serious about it call David Navone at Navone Engineering. You can get the number at www.davidnavone.com

They make all kinds of gadgets to incorporate aftermarket audio products with your stock system and he is the BEST. I used all of their stuff to install my system in my Mazda 3 with my stock stereo and it sounds like I have a $1000 dollar deck! Anyway good luck (sun)
