I completely trashed one of my rims. Bent beyond belief. Does anyone know of a way to repair this? Anyways. If you have one of htese rims in 16 inch, id love to take it off your hands!
..is there an easy way to check it without paying?
Jack up a back corner of the car and mount one of the wheels you want to test on it, preferably without the tire. Then spin it as fast as you can by hand, let go and look for motion on the edge of the rim. If the wheel is bent you will see the edge of the rim move around, if it is straight, it will be steady. In other words, just test it like you would a bicycle rim. However, don't stick your head under the car to get closer to the rim unless the car is on jack stands. It helps to have something immobile next to the spinning rim as a visual reference, for instance, put a couple of cinder blocks next to it and tape a pencil on as a "pointer". You can tape a small mirror there too to get a better angle if the car is just up on a jack. If you have to do this with the tire on, place the pencil tip as close as you can to the outermost edge of the visible part of the rim.
My price range is as cheap as i can get. So far the cheapest ive seen is 140 on ebay w/ free shipping!
If you can get an estemate for me thad be great =]
is there a difference between the 02 and 03 rim style?
I have a bent one as well. Doesn't seem too bad but my tire guy said he wouldn't put it in front. I've been looking for a stock replacent, but also looking a little for a nice afermarket set. Found these through Discount Tire: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fi...=2002&pc=22690&wd=16&rw=&vid=007052&rc=NMAINT
