Ok, mine pooped on me after all these years. I wanna upgrade with a unit that has bluetooth in it. Problem is the thing wont come off. I used the tool for it, the butter knief and even a longer knief to take it off. Its getting so frustrating. I seriously think that mazda welded mine intact to no one can steal it..lol..Any advice? thanks in advance.

well, i know we didn't have keys for the alpine HU i have in my car, so we took the entire radio bezel/trim piece off and got it out that way...

There is a rubber "nub" on the back of the radio holding it into a bracket on the back side. It is just slipped into the bracket but it is a VERY tight fit. I had to pull mine out with the faceplate off and a set pliers as best as possible. Just be careful not to damage your car!
