Stock MS3 rim anodize or powder coat, it is possible?

I like the looks of the stock MS3 rim, but I also really want a graphite or gloss black rim. Plus I'm cheap and thought that if i can get the stock rims anodized to my desired color that would be excellent. Is it possible? Anyone done this?

If so, this shouldn't screw with the tire fit integrity of the rim should it?

I know powder coat is possible, but i'm worried about the wear and tear on them with powder. Anodize will be more durable.

i found this pic and am in love, although i think those might be MS6 rims..??

you won't be able to anodize the stock rims. And yes, they are MS6 wheels.
Here's another pic of stock color ms6 wheels on a ms3

anodizing is much more durable but also requires greater care when cleaning to keep the finish. also the rim has to be pure aluminum in order to anodize. if you have a local anodizing shop they will be able to inspect the rim and tell if you if it is possible to anodize, but eg6motion is probably correct.

Where did you find that image? I want to see more of it. I have MS6 wheels that I'm looking to get PCed and you're right...that looks sick.

found a local wheel shop that can powder them gloss black for me for $150 per wheel. That includes pulling them off the car and unmounting and remounting the tires. Turn around 5 days max.

I thought that sounded very reasonable.

I'll be getting them done in a few weeks and post pics when finished up.
