Stock Blose stereo sub is rattling?

I noticed a strange rattle coming from under the passenger seat a few weeks ago. This was initially with the stereo turned off, and while driving over a rough road. I wasn't sure what was causing it until I turned on the stereo. The sub unit under the seat is rattling like either the driver inside is loose or something else built into the unit has broken or come loose.

I can't find anything on the outside of the unit that's responsible for it although I can put my hand down on it and with some pressure, make it go away. I can't tell if something stupid happened like some change fell under it somehow or a pen or something like that.

Anybody run into this problem and resolve it yet?
I have to decide if I want to take it to the dealer or just see if I can fix it myself. The car was bought in March 2009. Not sure if the stereo is still under warranty or not.

I will probably take the initiative and at least remove it and inspect it myself before taking it to the stealership.

TIA

Something fell inside the case, and no you're not the first one. I had a screw fall in there, most people have loose change. Just remove the passenger seat (takes 5 minutes), unbolt the sub enclosure and you can easily dismantle it until you find what fell in.

Ha Ha
you have discovered the Blose piggy bank
I found over $2 in mine

Yanked it from under the seat yesterday. There was a quarter lodged deep inside. I almost couldn't get it out as it was wedged inside the bottom of the sub. At first I couldn't find anything wrong. I had to fire up the stereo to test it and that's what kicked it loose. I removed the cover panel over the sub woofer driver. It's just a little 5" driver with a huge surround on it. Looks like a high excursion setup in a ported box. The port for the enclosure is pointed at the base of the armrest. Money falls out the armrest, goes down between the side of the seat and the armrest and rolls right down into the port. STUPID!

Would it effect the sound of the sub to put a little mesh cover over the port? I just see so many people have this issue that I wonder why there isn't something covering that hole.

Good idea.
I would expect that any noise generated by having mesh over the port would not be audible. This would especially be true if you used something like 1/4" opening wire mesh. It would be big enough to keep out change and most junk while having the least amount of airflow interference. Apply with foam mounting tape on the outside of the port to prevent buzzing and then cover that with some electrical tape. Alternately duct tape could be used for that extra special touch. It is a duct technically after all.

Mesh would be fine, good idea
I had to go back and mesh the inside of the port tube on my home sub since it was pumping the styrofoam peanuts I used to correct the internal volume right out the port.

i put some wire mesh over my port and it doesn't affect the sound. you don't even need to glue it in place if it's thick enough. just push it in far enough so the perimeter of the mesh slides into the port. it will naturally spring back and the cut mesh will bite into the plastic sub. 12,000 miles later and no rattles. well, at least not from the sub (mesh or unwanted visitors)
