stivine6's 2001 Mazda Protege Build

sounds like it hesitates when revved like when my cat was clogged up

Hmm I have no experience with that so I have no idea D: ill try posting up another video later and you can tell me if it still sounds that way. In the video I only revved up to about 5k rpm

I haven't noticed any hesitation or idle issues though.

humm...cat clogged up? around how many miles does that happen?

car looks good man, how do you like the front lip? im looking to get one but was curious about the fitment. got any detailed pictures by chance?

the restrictive cat was on my ford fairmont at 330000km once changed to a metal substrate high flow acceleration freed up, before that it revved but lagged a bit

thanks man, i like the front lip a lot but it took a while to get on because you have to form it around the bumper, i can get some pictures later if you'd like

Okay so here is a clip of my exhaust outside, again only revved up to 5k rpm (didnt want to draw to much attention from neighbor)

Let me know if it sounds 'clogged'

Sounds pretty good. I like the mini drone it has.
I cant wait to see how mine will end up sounding like with the sri + header + catback :P

sounds great for not being turbo. i cant stand that raspy tin can sound like some civics....as far as the lip, did you just screw it into the p5 bumper? i just dont like how the p5's kind of angle up, if it were straight across, there'd be endless possibilities as far as lips go.

Yeah that's what I was trying to avoid I hate the raspy fart can sound.

As for the lip it is just screwed on using self taping screw and a lot of patience :p

I would add a header if it didn't make it too loud, what's a good header that won't cost am arm and a leg but will fit perfectly?

I dont know for the loudness cause i never heard it in person. As far as a good header, obx is the way to go. Not to pricey and its pretty decent. It should be a direct fit on ur car bur you would need a non fouler.

Won't you get a better deal off of ebay just because of shipping alone? stivine6 is in toronto...

Looks fresh man. How much were the struts and springs? Can't seem to find one locally in Hamilton.

Yo. I'd love to know where you got the bumpers and skirts. If you could remember I'd be very grateful. Also, could you give me the details on how you smoked the signal lights? Did you sand before? Clear coat after? And # of layers? I think the tint you got looks perfect. Not too dark, classy. Thanks dude

Struts and springs i got a decent deal on them used for $350, still running them and rides great

it's a bit hard to come across used struts and springs, usually it will be better to buy new. I've seen them go on ebay for about 500-600 for the tokico struts, another option would be KYB struts + any set of springs you want

pm'd replied about the bumper and skirts. As for the tail lights thanks! I simply masked of the part i didn't want to be smoked and used 1 coat of VHT nite shades. I used 1 coat, no more than that, it was literally one quick spray for each side. A lot of people go overboard and tint it wayyy to dark
