Stinks at highway speeds...

I went in for a solinoid replacement today and asked about the smell (i have it too) and the tech said to spary lysol if you can believe it, in to the a/c vent intake and run the fan on high for a few minutes. he said any sort of mildew killing aerosol will work but lysol is the cheapest! "Fridgi-clean" is a name brand that is specifically for this problem. A/c intake is the grill looking thing running along the base of windsheild. MOGI steered me right thanks dude!

^ WOW I'm gonna have to try this later today and let you know if it works. I've been having the same smelly porblems for months now. It was rediculous at one point but that was due to the damn Neibghor's cats spraying on my car. But I took care of those Bastages.......

does this usually happen after you've accelerated very hard in fifth or fourth gear with the A/C on? this is a known issue. There's nothing wrong with your car. If you have the A/C on, and floor the accelerator, the car turns the A/C compressor off, and for a couple minutes, it smells funky. once you slow down, back off the revs, the A/C turns back on, and the smell goes away.

Both variants of stinkiness...

Ya know, I may have both the AC stinkiness and the Gas stinkiness (boom08). I will have to change gas and give my ac intake a spraying. Thank you all for the input... who knew my first post would stay alive for over a day?!

Laters...

Hmm, my car has recently developed the cat smell. Mostly when I run it hard. I've also got and idle problem.
