Still getting multiple answers about window glass

When I bought my 2024 CX-30 new, the dealership had the windows tinted at 35% which is close to the state's 33% limit on front drivers and passengers side windows.

When I've questioned them about this I always get the answer that whatever tinting they did meets state standards. I'd have no issue with this except the front drivers side glass (prior to the tinting installed) clearly says "Saint-Gobain Sekurat Tinted".

If there is any level of tint (or dye) already manufactured into the glass, won't adding the 35% tint film onto it result in the final vehicle light transparency number being, technically, illegal? Thanks!

@N7turbo,

Thanks. That is what I've been told previously. Your comment backing up the information I'd heard earlier adds validation to what I'd been told.

Still, I have to wonder, if the front/side windows are indeed clear, why does the glass have information that clearly states "Saint-Gobain Sekurat Tinted"?

From reading I've learned that Saint-Gobain Sekurit is a company specializing in OEM tempered glass used by any number of auto makers. The inclusion of "Tinted" in the stamped information in the lower left hand corner of the drivers pane still makes me go Hmmmm???

I have a 2023 CX-5. Except for the privacy glass in the rear, all the other windows have a very light green tint from the factory. I expect it will be the same for a CX-30.
