stereo confilct.....

OK, i have 2 jl audio w6's in the back of my speed with a rockford fosgate 700s amp...my 8" sub doesnot work anymore but the stock amp still runs the speakers. Should i take all that junk from up there down and just leave the amp? somone told me that whole stereo setup they did acts as a sway/strut bar? can someone please help me out?

That person is stunningly full of s***!!!
There is no bracing or handling properties for the sub enclosure.

Simply remove the entire thing. You can relocate the amp to under a seat to keep it out of the way.

The only thing that the enclosure does is keep the wheel wells seperated. :D

i can't see how that thing could provide any bracing, to be honest...and if it's an issue, then just replace it with a metal rod that won't flex as much, because you really can't get rid of the damn brackets.

1st...i am sure you've seen some crazy stuff dealing with audio like we do all of the time. i seen a guy cut into his rear sturt tower in an eclipse so his box would fit. i told him that those strut tower has structural purposes and he said that the box squeezed between them so tigh, that the box will act as the support...what a jackass...

pjc1800:

I worked as an installer for about 3 years, and during that time we had a guy come by asking why his freeair Kicker subs weren't very loud.

I looked in the trunk and he had wired them into the actual cardboard boxes they came in. He had taped the two cardboard boxes together. They were literally sliding around in the trunk.
