whats the deal with aftermarket steering wheels?

do all cars fit the same? does any aftermarket steering wheel fit any car? how about airbag systems?

I might be getting an impreza GC8 but the wheel in there feels like a school bus compared to my MSP steering wheel so I would want to swap it out, if the airbags are plug and play then I could get a MSP wheel and slap a i on it instead of the m.........

all after market wheels will will fit on any car, you just need to buy the correct hub for the car....you will lose your airbag
