Steering wheel shakes on braking

Braking from higher speeds (60+) on the highway my steering wheel shakes pretty bad. I dont have this problem on accelerating or on braking in lower speeds. I had my tires rebalanced to see if it would help but its still there. Someone suggested it might be from warped rotors. Does this sound right? and if so is it a warrany issue or not? Thanks

yeah it's your brakes most likely. it happened to me. changed the pads and cut the rotors and it solved the problem.

time for slotted rotors . . ...at least year in fl getting the rotors resurfaced (mine were glazed over) costs around 250 bux. . .it's cheaper to get new rotors where im at

Should it be obviously warped, or is it something thats barely noticable? I dont suppose I can claim warranty on this at 16,500 miles?

Rotors will not be covered under warranty, it's considered a wear item. If your interested I know where you can get Ractive drilled and slotted rotors for around $50 apeice.

Direct replacements? Comparison to stock braking? And whats my best solution money wise, I am saving for my dream car so I dont want to spend a lot on my car. Thanks man I greatly appreciate the help :D

hrrrmmmm..... interesting. very very interesting. i'm gonna second elemental's question... how's it compared to other rotors, especially stock?

actually if the rotars are warped they are a warrantee issue. . .unless it was your own fault (ie, hard repeated braking...etc))`

i know this cause that happened to me when i had a corolla (i wish they were warped so i wouldn't have to pay. . . here in fl it's pretty easy to warp rotors. . .drivig down the highway and then it suddenly rains (like always) and you drive through a puddle and bam. . .instant rotor warpage)

I don't know. I don't have them (yet), I just know where you can get them that cheap. :D

you could just get your rotors machined instead of completely replacing them. However, replacing them would be more fun.

use this as a reason to upgrade rotors pads and breaklines. -=) thats what iwould do

When you get them would you mind posting a picture and your opinion on them? Thanks

Hit up KYMP5 he has the fronts on his car now, not sure if he has any pics of them though. He's the one that can sell them to you for $50 apeice. They look hella sweet, I'd get them but if you look at my dyno results you will see I am in dire need of exhaust work. :D
