Steering wheel controls work w/ aftermarket amp?

I have an 04S with the Bose and I'm wondering if my steering wheels controls will still work if I replace the Bose amps and keep the head factory headunit, I saw some diagrams that showed the under seat amp has wires for the steering wheel controls? Anyone know???

I'm not sure about the Bose system, I do they know they make an after market unit so that you can keep them. No matter if you keep the factory HU or not. It's about 75 dollars.
