Steel braided vacuum lines?

Spooled

Has anyone put steel lines in place of the silicon ones to the waste gate and boost controller? If so, did this eliminate (or at least considerably reduce) boost spikes? Spikes make me a little nervous, especially after getting flashed.

boost spikes are usually from the hoses being too long, which causes the mbc to react slowly at first, hence the spike..then settle back to normal............... or u just have a poor mbc.

never ever heard of steel hoses used to replace the normal vac lines

OK. I just thought that maybe those hoses flexed enough to cause it. I have my hoses as short as they can go without kinking. My friend knows someone who put steel braided hoses on his turbo Mustang and ran them long enough to go through the firewall and back out into the engine so that he could adjust the boost from inside.
