Stay Away From Castle Mazda In Silver Spring!!!

As you can tell, I am completely dissatisfied with their service over there. To be honest, the sole reason why I purchased my car at Castle Mazda was because of their so called “free oil change for life”. Their sales department was ok--- well, the internet sales person are quite knowledgeable of what they are selling; however, the sales person who handles our paperwork had no clue what he was talking about. Whatever questions I asked him he told me either a) it’s in the owners manual or b) trying to find in on the car’s sticker.

Anyways, back to my main complaint. On Nov. 12, I have scheduled an appointment for oil change, installing roof rack (part of the sales deal), request a new wheel (stain on wheel since day 0 of delivery), and vibrating driver’s side mirror. I spoke with service advisor X that I would need a loaner car and he promised me one. He told me to come in the morning and I said fine. I arrived at the service department around 9ish that day and he told me no loaner car is available. WTF?? I asked why and he said I am late. Okay, I would like to know what is the definition of “morning”? Do I have to arrive at the dealership at 6am before their department opens to get a loaner?! I said fine and go ahead to process the paperwork and I will find my way to get home.

I went over to my salesperson and bitched at him about the situation. He was nice enough and somehow found me a loaner car. Frankly, the only reason he did it for me was because he knows that I have yet to receive Mazda Corp. customer survey. He and his boss expect me to write a good review on them. Later that day, that service advisor X called me and said I would need to come back for the wheel swap and new mirrors because they are not in stock. I said okay and I will come back when they have those items available.

Service advisor called me early last week and said the parts have arrived. I have made an appointment for this past Tuesday, the 4th. On Tuesday morning, around 7am, I called service advisor X again just to be sure that I am getting a loaner car. Surprisingly, he told me my appointment was supposed to be on Monday, the 3rd. He has gotten be kidding me?!! He said I could still come by but no loaner would be available. I replied no thanks and I would like to reschedule the appointment again. He told me the next available date is today Dec. 7th. I asked him twice if I will get a loaner also and he said YES.

So, this morning my dad drove over to Castle and got there at 8am. Again, that SOB advisor said no loaner car is available because I did not requested one. To quote his word, “I am sorry sir, I did reschedule you for service today but you did not request to reschedule for a loaner today”. He just accused me and said I didn’t reschedule for a loaner for today. To a no brainer that if I didn’t come on Tuesday because there’s no loaner, why would I do the same again today?? I told him that I purposely asked him twice on Tuesday if I am getting a loaner today and he said YES. He also insisted saying that there’s nothing written on the book for requesting a loaner. I got to the point that I didn’t want to deal with this nasty person and told him to cut the crap. My dad is basically stuck there for a few hours now for this non sense!!!!

I just want to warn our fellow Mazda enthusiasts to stay away from this BS stealership. Don’t get trapped buying their cars there because of this so call “free oil change for life time” You will regret and want to kick yourself for a long time like me….. I will try another dealership next time… Any suggestions?

I apologize for this long read and some profanities that I have used. Oh lastly, if you are Mr. Castle or a member of this company, SHAME ON YOU to have a dishonest, arrogant want to be employee!!

Update: They swapped a new wheel and not to my surprise, they have ordered a defective part for my defected mirror. DUH! I am really getting sick and tired of this nonsense.

It's about time to fill my survery now.... I wish they have -10 in their ratings....

Sorry to hear. This is exactly the reason why you never accept delivery of a vehicle until you are 100% satisfied with the condition. Once the sale is complete, the dealer has little incentive to back-up their promises (unfortunately)...

I wonder if this place used to be the DARCARS Mazda? I remember DARCARS Mazda was in College Park, and they were ok. Then they moved to Silver Spring, and that place was TERRIBLE! I stopped going there, even though I still had time left on my DARCARS service package. Now I think this has turned into this Castle joint. Worst service... I had tons of bad experiences. I said, for my next Mazda, I am NOT going there.

I got my new speed6 from Rich Morton in Pasadena, and it was a great experience.
