I think it's proabbly normal but every time i start my engine when it's cold or if It sits for a couple of hours and completely cooled the rpm gauge will jump up to about 2000rpm's for a couple of seconds and then slowy goesdown. it also makes a humming noise. when the engine is already warm and i start it doesn't jump to 2000rpm's instead it normally starts and idles's below 1000rpm's. Any one else have this same exact issue, just wondering.

It's normal for it to do that on cold starts. Even though we have fuel injection now it's still necessary for the engine to adjust the fuel/air mix to compensate for the engines temp. The IAS motor on fuel injected vehicles acts just like an old fashioned electric choke on a carburator.
