Anyone here having problems starting your M3 ride after it sits for a few hours, I have to crank it over for at least 5-10 seconds before the dam thing starts. I took it to mazda but they said its the cold weather, It is now 27 or 80 degrees out today here in Toronto and i dont think that is the problem. Just wondering if any one else has experienced this and has got it checked out, and fixed.

damn 80f in toronto eh? thats crazy its only 78f here in florida

It's a problem with the fuel pumb. There is a TSB for it. They should replace it under warranty

No s*** whats wrong with me!!! (smoke) Your totally right there Goldwing, maybe I should lay off the 420 just a bit lmao. Thanx for the info on both threads i got it checkd out and sure enoguh it was the fuel pump and they are ordering me a new one. BTW does the fuel pump have any effect on the over all performance of the car, it seems some times it has more BALLS then others? Just wondering. Now you will have to excuse me while I go and light another Fatty!!!! (bowdown) (boom05)

LoL...

The fuel pump can definitely have an effect on performance but the problem they are having with these pumps shouldn't cause a drop in performance. Not saying that it won't, just that it shouldn't.

I've noticed that temperature affects my performance a lot. When the engine is cold, I almost get a turbo-boost at mid-rpms because of the VTCS. Once it's warmed up and VTCS kicks out, then it drives normally.
